The 4-channel programmable IR relay board with latching / momentary modes
This listing is for a fully assembled and tested 4-channel infra-red relay board module. This unit comes with an AC-DC wall adapter that is used as a power supply, and a compatible infra-red remote control. While many of you will have compatible infra-red (IR) remotes lying around the homestead, I will be including a compatible remote with battery installed. Easily program in up to four codes that are saved into EEPROM memory, and remembered even after you power the unit off. The programming sequence takes less than 20 seconds. The video above serves as a full user manual. It is extremely easy to use, and ready to go right out of the box! This relay board comes with two modes of operation:
Momentary mode: In momentary mode, when the unit recognizes a code, then the specific relay that is pointed to by that code will turn on for as long as you hold the button on the remote down. When you let go, the relay turns off. The relay will only stay on for as long as you hold down the relative button.
Latching mode: In latching mode, when the unit recognizes a code, then the specific relay that is pointed to by that code will turn on, and stay on even when you let go of the button. When you press the same button again, that specific relay will turn off. Every time you press a button that corresponds to a relay, then that relay will toggle states!
Each relay has an LED indicator that tells the user which relays are on, and which are off. There is a 2-pin header on the left hand side of the board called "LED_EN". When this header is shorted by a jumper, then these LEDs are functional. When this jumper is removed, the LEDs will not light up. This is merely a power saving option. There are two 2-pin headers on the lower end of the board labelled "A", and PG". The "A" header is used to select between momentary and latching operations. The "PG" header is used to place the board into program mode. The unit can be re-programmed with ease, and can be re-programmed as many times as you'd like.
The "SEL" button on the board is a reset button that only works in latching mode. If several relays are on, and you need to manually turn them off, simply press the "SEL" button, and all relays will be deactivated.
There are four mounting holes. One on each corner of the board. The included AC-DC adapter plugs directly into the board on the lower left hand side. This AC adapter is rated for 120-240VAC-IN // 50/60Hz, so Americans, Canadians, Europeans can all use this power supply.
Size Specifications:
Board Length: 89mm
Board Width: 72mm
Board Height: 18mm
How do the relays work? Each relay has three pins: CO (Common), NC (Normally Closed), and NO (Normally Open). Relays are isolated high power switches. They are simply on-off switches. These relays are known as SPDT (Single Pole Double throw) relays. When the relay is deactivated, the CO pin is connected to the NC pin. When the relay is turned on, the CO pin disconnects from the NC pin, and connects to the NO pin. It is that simple. The relays can be used to turn on high power AC or DC devices. Each relay output has a three-pin terminal block; each with the labels of (NC/CO/NO).
When you purchase this listing, you will receive:
1x Fully assembled and tested Infra-red relay module
1x AC-DC wall adapter
1x Compatible infra-red remote control
